Hello There, How Are You?
My name is Dave Black, and as people rescue animals, I am an artist who rescues stuff. My main goal is to create beautiful and useful art and home decor by using high-quality products and reusing and repurposing materials instead of buying more. In the world we live in, I love to bring interesting, useful things back to life instead of wasting our valuable resources. I find interesting materials everywhere I go, and spend the time needed to refurbish items to create sustainable products that I fully enjoy.
During my life I have been many things. I have been a builder and carpenter for 30-plus years, and I have been an artist all of my life. For the last 27 years, I have taught Middle School, and I decided to retire. I feel for now, I want to try to be a good steward for our planet, and be a useful and purposeful creator of things that everyone can enjoy and appreciate. With this in mind, I started to start my own business and I call it Eco Eclectic Creations.
I have always loved making original things that I can call my own creation. Everything I make is of my own design, or inspired by many facets of this world. Traveling to different countries helps me appreciate what we surround ourselves with to make our lives our own.. Everything you will see over time is one of a kind, and you will never see THAT duplicated again. All of my work is done by my two hands and using small hand tools. A body in motion stays in motion! The attention I give to each piece gives each one its own unique character. I like to give each piece a name, and then share with you a little background story as to where I have procured the items used, what the items are made from, and how I came up with the idea to use these items.
My main goal is to reuse and repurpose high-quality materials. 95% of all of my wood-type projects are done with quality hardwoods such as black walnut, and different species of Maple such as rock and silver, Elm, and Birch to name a few. Sometimes I even come across some rare valuable woods such as monkey pod, madrone, and parota to mention a few.
As items appear over time, you will notice that nothing will be the same. You will see some great tables of different sizes, sculptures, game tables, and lamps to mention a few. I would love to make your ideas come true as well. If you see anything that I have made that you would love to have, I would love to communicate with you about what you need, and hopefully, I can make you something that is similar. Maybe you have size limits or restrictions, and you cannot find THAT piece in your size. I can also create pieces that have themes. For example, a golf table, hunting, horses, etc. Any color and subject you enjoy would be creation goal.
